It’s our last workshop of the year and we have had a really busy week so far!! First of all we had some students from Tom Price come and join our class for a few days - this was a great chance for these guys to meet the Spinfex Hill Artists and see how they work and what goes on behind the scenes. They were a bunch of talented guys themselves and we were all really impressed with what they came up with in a few days!! We were also lucky enough to have some of the elders from HACC (Home and Community Care) come and join our class for the day - many of these people had never painted before but produced some really beautiful paintings!! Everyone had a great time - we loved having them join us and they all seem keen to keep coming back for more next year which will be fantastic!
As you can imagine this meant we were really crowded this week with over twenty artists in one space - even more reason for us to be pursuing funding to build our own studio for the artists to be able to come not just for workshops but every day…
